At Family Resource Center we respect and support birth parents and all of their decisions.

We offer practical and emotional support to every birth mother that we work with, regardless of her decision about adoption.

We understand that birth parents may not be sure about making an adoption plan.
If a birth mother does not choose adoption, FRC will work with them to create a plan that reflects their specific needs, decisions and wishes.

We respect birth parents who wish to take an active role in adoption planning and choose the adoptive family.
At FRC we have a large number of waiting potential adoptive families - these are people who are waiting to welcome a child into their lives..

We acknowledge and accept that birthmothers and adoptive parents have many different positions regarding openness in adoption.
Birth mothers and birth fathers have the right to know and understand all of their options - ranging from
open adoption to closed adoption and every possible position in between. Contact can range from in person meetings to simply letters and pictures, or to no contact at all. One of our adoption counselors would be pleased to speak with any birth parent or family member about what level of contact is comfortable and practical for you.

Family Resource Center believes that embracing "openness" in adoption is healthy for all parties in an adoption, and we also firmly believe that birth parents have the right to create and design their own adoption plans.

We know that many birth mothers and birth fathers will need support and understanding.
That’s why we have compassionate, experienced, professional adoption counselors available whenever you need someone to talk with – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call us at (773) 334-2300 or toll free at (800) 676-2229

We recognize that many birth mothers may need financial support or assistance in obtaining medical care during their pregnancy.
In addition to providing access to our Safe Haven Birth Parent Housing Program that provides birthmother housing (two fully furnished, safe, secure apartments) we can also help birth mothers to arrange to have their pre-natal care and delivery expenses covered. For the good of the child they are giving birth to, birth mothers deserve to receive all the medical attention they and thier baby need.

If you are a birth mother who is considering adoption and needs help with everyday living expenses like rent, food, or maternity clothes, please let us know.

We accept and understand that some birth parents change their minds.
Any counseling, housing, medical treatment or financial support that a birth mother or birth father receives from Family Resource Center is given freely and without obligation. Birth parents have the right to change their mind at any point in the adoption process, right up until signing final and irrevocable surrenders for adoption.

At Family Resource Center we always honor birth parent decisions.
There is no pressure and no obligation!

We realize that the adoption isn’t “over” when your child is placed.
Adoption is a process, so we offer post-placement support and services.

In working with Family Resource Center you have many options and your choices will always be respected. If you would like to talk with someone who truly understands the decisions that you are facing, call us at (773) 334-2300 or toll free at (800) 676-2229.
